A Pre-Med Student “Abroad”

I had wanted to complete the CAPPP Quarter in Washington Program since my freshman year at UCLA. It was the only way I, as a pre-medical student, could affordably experience a different culture without falling behind in my classes.

The immersion through the internship, livingΒ  at the UC Washington Center, and the accessibility of the east coast really made it feel like I was in a different world. The CAPPP program provided me an opportunity to broaden my worldview in terms of experiencing a different culture and professional environment. A Freshman Plans to Apply

Though I cannot remember now how I first heard about the Quarter in Washington Program, I know I decided as a freshman that I wanted to participate in the program. I had a lot of reasons for wanting to apply; a tough first year at UCLA left me wanting smaller classes and convinced me I needed to take advantage of more of the opportunities college offered me.
