How My Cousin Convinced Me to Apply

I had heard about the Quarter in Washington Program around campus—who could miss all those flyers? However, it was my cousin who convinced me to look into the program further.

Sitting down to lunch with family on the Fourth of July, my cousin suggested I look into the program that had led her to Washington several years ago. A Pre-Med Student “Abroad”

I had wanted to complete the CAPPP Quarter in Washington Program since my freshman year at UCLA. It was the only way I, as a pre-medical student, could affordably experience a different culture without falling behind in my classes.

The immersion through the internship, living  at the UC Washington Center, and the accessibility of the east coast really made it feel like I was in a different world. The CAPPP program provided me an opportunity to broaden my worldview in terms of experiencing a different culture and professional environment.
